- Requested to be and acted as an on-call lawyer for the highly successful Tall Ships 2000, as they required competent legal counsel capable of advising on a diverse range of subjects which services were to be available around the clock in case any problems developed.
- Was previously and is currently involved in the community as a minor hockey and baseball coach, as well as, served on the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Water-ski Association.
- Active in the arts as previous director of the Jest in Time Theatre Troupe and as counsel for East Coast Music Awards nominated Tyrone Simmonds.
- Participant in the education of Bar Admission Students as speaker and demonstrator of practical aspects of legal practice.
- Co-organizer of Annual Charity Halloween Event in support of Camp Goodtime, A Respite Camp for Children Undergoing Cancer Treatment.
- Won a bronze medal in the 1998 National Water-ski Championships Jump Event despite the fact of only having jumped four times in the previous ten years. This had little to do with water-ski skills and more to due with the fact that the best skiers either crashed or did not enter the event.
- Prior to being a lawyer, attended Acadia, York and Dalhousie Universities and worked in various jobs such as a high-rise window washer in Toronto, a bartender and as a member of the Halifax Civic Workers‚ Union.
