Real Estate: All aspects of residential, commercial and industrial real property. We provide advice and assistance to land owners and real estate developers in matters such as subdivision, and zoning, leasing and mortgaging, expropriations, tax assessments, and condominium development.

Construction: We provide advice and assistance to owners, developers, lenders, insurers, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers with respect to the drafting of contracts, and resolution of disputes, including mechanic liens.

This is a complex area of law, requiring both an abundance of experience and resources to advance appropriate claims regarding medical negligence and/or negligent care at the hands of hospitals and other health care institutions.

Insurance Disputes: We are able to examine your policy and determine if a loss should be paid. We can embark upon negotiations, litigation and/or alternate dispute resolution with your insurer aimed at seeing that appropriate loses are covered. This may involve dealing with insured commercial loses, as well as, fire claims whereby insurance coverage is either denied or there is a dispute as to the value of the claim.

As necessary we will coordinate the quantification and your advancement of your claim with the assistance of appropriate experts aimed at determining what the cause of loss was. For example, civil or electrical engineers, forensic accountants, etc.

Arbitration: All aspects of commercial arbitration, including advising as to contractual provisions for arbitration, appropriate arbitration rules and procedures, and conducting arbitrations.

5. CRIMINAL/ All aspects of the criminal litigation process.

REGULATORY LAW include both the process of advising the client under investigation and after charges have been laid. This includes everything related to obtaining disclosure from the Crown, advising a client about an appearing for plea, preliminary inquiries, trial and if need be, sentencing requirements.

Services also involve dealing with both business and individual clients regarding regulatory offences whereby penalties may be substantial. This includes circumstances where an audit by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (formerly Revenue Canada) becomes an investigation with an aim to laying charges under the Income Tax Act and regarding various provincial statutes such as the Liquor Control Act, Motor Vehicle Act, Residential Tenancies Act, etc.

6. PRIVATE AND AGENCY ADOPTIONS law.

One of the happiest areas of law to practice in is adoption. The bringing together of a family is indeed a joyous occasion and requires that it be structured appropriately to protect the child and the new adoptive parents. We have handled both agency adoptions whereby the children come from a child placing agency approved by the province such as the Home of the Guardian Angel and private adoptions or step- parent adoptions.
